Maple Houses in Central NH - Homes for sale in NH - Kokx Realty Group
If you are anything like me, you enjoy the sweet, rich taste of pure maple syrup on a fluffy, delicious pancake or waffle.
As a person raised in New Hampshire, I am happy to let you know it’s one of New England’s most delicious treasures.
But have you ever wondered how that golden goodness makes its way from tree to table? I'm here to point you toward some fantastic sugar houses in Central New Hampshire where you can see the magic happen firsthand.
Maple syrup starts with the iconic sugar maple trees commonly found in the forests of Central NH. In early spring, when nights are still cold, but the days start to warm up, sap begins to flow. Farmers tap the trees by drilling small holes and inserting spouts, allowing the sap to drip into buckets or tubing systems.
Once collected, the sap is boiled down in a maple house—a cozy, often rustic building where the sap is heated until it thickens into that sweet syrup we all love. The process is a beautiful blend of tradition and science, and visiting a sugar house is a great way to experience it up close.
When you are visiting scenic Central New Hampshire, you will want to see maple syrup production in action, here are a few sugar houses you should definitely check out:
