Hidden Treasures of Franklin, NH: Part One — Downtown Crêpes
Franklin might be a small city, but it’s full of surprises if you’re willing to wander off the beaten path. Tucked right into the heart of downtown is a spot that feels straight out of a European side street — Downtown Crêpes.
When you walk in, the aroma hits you first — warm, buttery, slightly sweet — and suddenly you’re not sure if you should order breakfast or dessert (spoiler: you can do both). Yesterday I tried The New Englander, and let’s just say it’s everything good about our region wrapped in one perfectly golden crêpe. Savory, sweet, local, and completely satisfying.
There’s something about this place that just feels...happy. The owner greets you like an old friend, the music hums in the background, and the food is plated with the kind of care that makes you slow down and savor it.
If you’re exploring Franklin and want to try something different — something that reminds you why small towns have such big hearts — Downtown Crêpes deserves a stop.
Next up in the Hidden Treasures of Franklin series: I’ll be heading to Waterhorse Irish Pub for some local flavor (and maybe a pint). Stay tuned — there’s more to Franklin than meets the eye.
